My Wife at Work

This is the WordPress blogsite of Tracy (Mike) and TC Sweat.  We’re just posting thoughts about God’s Word and His Kingdom (along with some other stuff).   We love Jesus and His Church.  We worship and serve Him with Lighthouse Baptist shepherded by Pastor Joey Rountree.

Our son, Clint, is grown and gone.  We love him and are very proud of him.

TC manages the Florida Horse Ranch, where we reside.  I am employed by Centurion Auto Logistics.  We seek to honor our Savior at home, at work, at play, and on mission.

“Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us in Christ with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly places.”  Ephesians 1:3

  1. I enjoyed breezing through your blog, Mike & TC. I will try to check back from time to time. Remain in the Word, and keep up the good work.

  2. Where in the heck is Wall Drug? Did you also ride the land tortoise?

Wonderful blogs here. I’m looking forward to exploring more.

    Shalom, Art

  3. My family and I visited the same area in SD nearly 40 years ago. I have pictures of my sons sitting on what is probably that same jackalope. At that time, there were road signs starting hundreds of miles from Wall Drug, which many beleive to be in the middle of nowhere, that read “Where in the ‘heck’ is Wall Drug.”

The tradition of these signs goes back at least to WWI where the same message was posted on road signs across Europe. Wall Drug is an American icon!

    Shalom, Art

    • LOL. I probably missed that sign, but beieve me, there are still hundreds of miles of signs. It was impossible to not stop with that much advertisement. That’s interesting about WWI. Thanks

  4. I’ve taken a look at several of these posts. I think it’s about time we swap blogroll links ;-) Let me know.

  5. Thank you for visiting and subscribing to my blog. This baby to the blogosphere can use all the encouragement she can get.

  6. I enjoyed your blog. I am not an evangelical Christian. I fear you would probably not even feel I am a Christian. But I am. AND, I really appreciate your brand of evangelical faith. It speaks to me. Keep it up. In the words of Leonard Cohen, “O bless the continual stutter of the Word being made flesh.”

    • Thanks for visiting and for the encouragement. Love Cohen’s quote, by the way.

Friend, I would never attempt to place judgement on your status as a believer. I resigned long ago to leaving that task to the only One who has the ability to save, Jesus. I merely try to share the Good News. God is in the saving business… not me. And thank goodness for that, as big a blotch as I make of my own affairs, I’d hate to see what I would do with others’. I simply teach that salvation comes by grace through faith in the finished work of Jesus Christ. With nothing added, and nothing subtracted. I think that is a fair assessment of the teaching of Scripture. God bless.

  7. I’m deeply moved by your response. You offered graciousness. And that is what we need to be most ready to offer to the world. Thanks.

  8. I just wanted to comment today and tell you how much I appreciate your blog ministry. I love the fact that you understand how to present both a playful tone and a serious message. That can be a tough balance to strike. Keep up the great work!

    • Thanks, Russell. I sometimes fear my humor distracts from the important, so I do try to practice restraint, but it seems to flow sometimes without encouragement. I appreciate your visit friend, and God bless.

  24. Hi, Mike and Tracy. I just realized something and want to apologize! Unless you selected, “Notify me of follow-up comments via email,” you may have wondered why I did not reply to any of your comments. Actually, I did… all of them. But I was hitting “reply to post” instead of “reply to comment,” not realizing they were different – until now. I do apologize! I was not giving you the cold shoulder or anything like that. Your comments were always so thoughtful. They were a breath of fresh air! You often told me you were praying for me and my ministry. I knew you cared and I always felt encouraged when I heard from you. I want you to know I have always appreciate your supportive comments! Thank you, my friends! (I am unclear: am I speaking to Mike, Tracy, or both?).

    Your brother in Christ,
    Joe

    • Hi Joe! Great to hear from you. I am actually Mike and Tracy (first and middle names… somehow I am called by both, so respond to both). My wife is TC… who is a great contributor to much of my thoughts that end in words. A busier than normal schedule has depleted a lot of my time I like to spend at WP, but I still make sure and read all your posts… as they are very rewarding and inspiring.
We continue to lift your family in prayer, friend. I look forward to hearing how and where God places and uses you for His glory. Thanks for visiting and God bless all of you.

  25. Thanks for visiting my blog…and the following. I will do the same as I find your blogg interesting..All the best!
