RC Sproul on Bible Study

“Here, then, is the real problem of our negligence. We fail in our duty to study God’s Word not so much because it is difficult to understand, not so much because it is dull and boring, but because it is work. Our problem is not a lack of intelligence or a lack of passion. Our problem is that we are lazy. ”   RC Sproul

One Response to RC Sproul on Bible Study

I have such a hunger for God’s Word and a passion for God’s Word ever since I cried out to God to make me hungry and desperate for Him. I started reading His Word and I want to read it more and more and more. It used to be a chore – “Have I read my Bible today? Yes, it’s ok I don’t need to read anymore.” or “No, I have about 5 minutes.” or “Well, I am going to Bible Study today – does that count?” But now it’s like – “What can I read next? What can God show me next?” I never feel like “Oh, I have to read the Bible.” It is not a religious ritual. It is an act of passion and hunger because I want to know Jesus and who He is and what He is like and what does He have to say about this situation.
