Okay! Okay! So maybe the purchase of the ‘Butterball Turkey Fryer’ concretes the necessity of my wife’s resolve to ban me from viewing info-commercials. I still say it was overkill hiring Brian and Carley to drive her point home. What am I talking about? Here, read for yourself.
Brian recently posted the statements, “It is hard, particularly when we feel something strongly, to forgo our own desires and wants and intentions for the benefit and good of another. However, such an attitude is what looks good on those who name the name of Christ.” at his place, ‘Summathetes.’ I believe his words need repeating in Charleston, South Carolina tonight…
…because Carley may have captured the perfect photo to illustrate the need for Brian’s words. At ‘Obsecrations,’ she presented the photo and an article titled, ‘Self-Gratification.’ The message placarded on the side of a trolley car, interpreted by Carley, loudly proclaims, ““Get what YOU want!” And, “Get it NOW!” But don’t take offense, Charleston, their words need repeating at my house too.
I’m a little slow, but I think they’re presenting a fair contrast of kingdoms here. Brian is using Paul’s words to the Colossians to describe the proper attire for those residing in the Kingdom of God, while Carley displays the kingdom of man’s desperate materialistic desire… whatever the cost may be. Three cheers to both of you! I describe my appreciation for your labors with one word… Ouch!
